Currently, I am not watching the Golden Globes, nor did I watch the red carpet, so you may be wondering why this post has anything to do with said event. Well, usually my friends and I gab on for hours about the gorgeous designer gowns of lush fabric and rich color, embroidered with sequins, lace, and feathers; but today, I actually had no knowledge of the event until it popped up on MSN.... Usually, I love to watch red carpet events because I often daydream about wearing dresses of equal craftsmanship someday, or of the Old Hollywood glamour a few of the pieces might echo (by then though, dance sequences and musical numbers float through my mind and I wish I was walking along by the fabled Chinese Theater in the 1930s....).
Anyway, naturally I browsed through the photos, slightly amazed by some of the interesting choices some of the wearers made (there are so many beautiful dresses out there - thoughts that swirled through my mind at that point ran along the lines of "Why on earth would you chose that?!"). Despite some of the boring, expected, or just flat-out unattractive decisions, there were many gowns that struck my fancy.
Here are my top:
I love love loveee Emma Stone's red carpet fashion! This isn't my favorite of her looks, but it's still very pretty!
Missi Pyle's poofy yellow dress is interesting. I like it with the bright red lipstick and her wavy blond hair swept up!
Though I would never wear this, Tilda Swinton has the awesomest minimalist/ geometric style!
Rooney Mara's dress was pretty, but not all too exciting.
